BEAR MUSIC FEST RETURNS TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
LAUNCHES NEW APPROACH TO MAXIMIZE THE COMMUNAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE
Saturday, July 22, 2017 — Pinecrest, CA — One Foot Productions and Strong Brew have teamed up for the 2nd annual Bear Music Fest. The three day, all-inclusive music festival takes place Friday through Sunday, September 8th-10th, 2017, at Lair of The Golden Bear in Pinecrest, California. Located in Tuolumne County — approximately 2.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area — Bear Music Fest is the perfect getaway for music aficionados who prefer to “experience” live music and interact with artists amidst beautiful natural settings.
Lodging and food are included and attendees are welcome to participate in all shows and activities at no extra cost. The camp-style kids’ programming was specifically designed so parents can watch the music with or without their kids. With 100 acres of land, Bear Music Fest at Lair of The Golden Bear is the quintessential summer camp, house party, and music festival for the entire family. “In an effort to build community and provide you with amazing discounts, we are excited to launch an entirely new approach to reserving passes for Bear Music Fest!” — The Bear Music Fest Team
The 2017 lineup features a diverse range of acts, spanning genres like R&B, electronic, folk, musical theatre, and more. Returning artists include crowd favorites the Q Brothers, whose “ad-rap-tations” of classic plays have toured the world to international acclaim. There will be two performances of their critically acclaimed show, Othello The Remix. This show, most recently presented on the urban stages of NYC and in sold-out shows at Chicago Shakespeare. Also back for a second year is the Bay Area based live-electronic quartet NVO, whose fusion of bass-heavy rock, sci-fi funk and rave-hop kept the crowd dancing all night long at last year’s fest.
There are several BMF newcomers included in the 2017 lineup as well. In The Valley Below will be bringing their seductively compelling mix of dream pop and bluesy rock, blending ethereal vocals and atmospheric guitars under our tall pines and starry skies. The Bay Area’s own Afrolicious will be bringing their signature brand of soulful electronic dance music to our neck of the (actual) woods. This band knows how to bring the party—not least of all because they started out as a weekly dance party in San Francisco. Solo artist Chris Ayer mixes the best of groovy-pop-soul-funk-folk-Americana. The rawness of performance and poetic lyricism combine to make something refreshingly hip and unexpectedly timeless. Rolling in all the way from NYC is Lohai, a new soul-pop collaboration between Alita Moses and Devon Yesberger (of the Caleb Hawley Band) represent the best of the prolific Brooklyn music scene. Former subway busker and gnarly one-man band Zack Orion will be arriving with his Appalachia meets the A Train, rollicking, banjo-laden tunes. Minus the D presented by the irreverent comedy team, The Retar Crew, is best known for absurd, debaucherous YouTube music videos. Just imagine a rowdy, hip-hop cross between Spinal Tap, Lonely Island, and...the Temptations? The guys of Red Letter Day may be teenagers, but their music is sure to strike a chord with folks of all ages. With a fresh, magnetic energy and musical nods to classic rock and R&B, these guys are like the Beatles of the Instagram age. And last but not least, collaborators Jack Symes and Nat Lekoff will be merging their distinct solo musical styles with some laid-back, West Coast, lyrical goodness.
